Depending on the moment, 2020

The installation was shown in august 2020 in art space Tique. Working from the particular architecture and location of the artspace Tique, Van der Ende questioned the space as a volume to create message and meaning. She decided to condition the space by honoring her fictional commercial sponsor, SOLID SYSTEM, with a space-filling banner. During the month the artist resided in Tique, and it being the time right after the city of Antwerp had been in lockdown, she explored the meaning of the art space post COVID-19. Through writing and performing, she reexamined the situation of being in lockdown as an artist and the distance it created between the work and audience.
