Geseponeerd

Jivan van der Ende is collaborating with graphic designer Elena Op “t Eynde on her new experimental artist's book Geseponeerd. Based on instructions, Op 't Eynde designs the publication as 'The Policeman”, a fictional character and an absurdist personification of patriarchal authority. Through gender-bending and performative actions, De Politieman edits, censors and publishes Van der Ende's printed work, using playful absurdity to explore themes such as gender issues, control and abuse of power.

By assuming this role, graphic designer Elena Op 't Eynde explores censorship strategies and gains complete control over the artist's publication and practice. Through this collaboration, both creators play with the hierarchical role patterns of director and performer, designer and artist.

Geseponeerd will be presented for the first time at the headquarters of De Politieman, the exhibition “Waakzaam en Dienstbaar” at P/////AKT.
